The Historic Georgian Bay Métis Community
The Historic Georgian Bay Métis Community is an indivisible part of the Upper Great Lakes Métis. Its formation largely resulted from the migration of Upper Great Lakes Métis families concentrated around Michilimackinac, who moved between 1790-1829 to St. Joseph Island, Drummond Island, and eventually Penetanguishene.
